Generally sound, possibly varnished. stretcher bars closed tight. Some water stains on the reverse. Canvas is brittle-but no deformation Considerable surface dirt on painted surface. No obvious surface coating. Sigs of ware damage on canvas verso. Verso of canvas dusty/ dirty, no backing. examined june 8th 2014
